Awareness on the effect of climate change has taken a centre stage to mark global Day for climate change
As part of activities to mark the Global day for Climate Change, an environmental Organization, 350.org has organized a walk to create awareness on the effect of climate change.
Representative of 350.org and an ambassador, Eco network, Mr. Smith Nwokocha during the walk, reemphasized the need for individuals to ensure that they stay away from things that contribute to climate pollution, especially the soot.
Mr. Nwokocha also appealed to the government and other bodies to collaborate with them in the creation of awareness and further urged government to engage individuals involved in oil bunkering rather than disperse them.
Some students and a participant who would not want his name mentioned told our correspondent that people should do whatever it takes to sustain the environment as the environment is what shapes mans activities.
According to them, the need to stop the issue of environmental pollution is urgent, adding that individuals must choose a cleaner community and lifestyle by stopping the use of fossil fuel at homes and in cars, burning of bushes amongst others and engage in exercises like riding of bicycles, or walking to work.
