Port Harcourt schools hit the ground running with early resumption

Schools in Port Harcourt metropolis complied with the directive of the State Government that all Government and Private Schools to resume today. Our correspondent who visited Some schools in Obio Akpor Local Government area reports that at Government Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta some students and teachers were seen around the school premises, while in Community Junior Secondary School and Community Primary School Olanada teachers and students were in classes. Principal Community Junior Secondary school Olanada Rumuola Mrs. Doris Chinwo said the state government is serious with the education sector and no teacher would want to lose their job hence the level of compliance by teachers at the resumption day. Mrs. Chinwo also said that she expect teachers to teach during their period and for students to attend classes. Some students Ilonah Nelly and Eme Joshua who spoke with our correspondent said they were very happy to come back to school after the holidays, hoping to improve in subjects they found difficult. They however appealed to the government to provide the school with modern technology to make the teachers job easy.
