PHED Assures of steady power supply despite partial lockdown

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc, Dr. Henry Ajagbawa has assured its customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers states that during the stay at home period arising from COVID-19 pandemic as directed by states' Government , power supply received from the National Grid shall be distributed accordingly. Dr. Ajagbawa gave the assurance during a strategic meeting with the management team and other stakeholders in Port Harcourt recently. He affirmed the readiness of the essential workers to fix any fault that may impede power supply to customers during the stay at home adding that adequate logistics had been put in place with a view to achieving safe and seamless service delivery. The MD/CEO emphasised the need for maintaining the social distancing aimed at keeping both the employees and customers safe especially at this time of COVID-19 pandemic.He also echoed that the employees interfacing staff have been fully equipped with safety tools. "We want to re-assure our customers as a customer-centric organization that PHED will continue to distribute power as received from the grid. "Our technical crew will be on ground to fix any fault that may occur in order to ensure that it is distributed accordingly", Dr. Ajagbawa said. Experts have advised that spread of COVID-19 could be reduced by observing social distancing in addition to washing hands regularly with soaps and hand sanitizers, among other measures.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
