  By Awajis George  The new Rivers State commissioner of police CP Tunji Disu said he will work with people of Rivers State to ensure crime and criminality is brought to the barest minimum. CP Disu while briefing Newsmen at the command's headquarters in Port Harcourt, after inspection of Guard of Honour upon arrival, promised to partner Rivers people in order to succeed.   By Awajis George Rivers State Police Command says operatives of Ahoada Police Division have killed two suspected cultists loyal to wanted David Gift who murdered former Ahoada DPO SP Bako.   Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said police received a distress call yesterday morning, that some suspected cultists loyal to wanted David Gift popularly known as 2Baba invaded Odiemerenyi Community in search of suspected Police informants.   SP Iringe-Koko revealed that the Ahoada Division on receipt of the information swung into action and mobilized with other tactical units to the scene.   According to the command’s image maker, on getting to the community, the hoodlums who unfortunately, have killed five natives before the arrival of the Police opened fire on sighting the Police.   The hoodlums were, however, overpowered by the superior firepower of the Police as two of the suspected cultists were fatally wounded.   Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has order

  By Awajis George Suspected Iceland cult members loyal to wanted David Gift aka 2Baba said to be responsible for killing of SP Bako Angbashim late Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of Ahoada Police Division on Sunday morning November 12,2023 attacked and killed five natives of Odiemerenyi community in Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State we gathered. A native of the community who pleaded anonymity told  our Correspondent that the suspected cultists invaded the community at about 1am Sunday morning where they killed two of his brothers and another person in his compound. IGP Egbetokun , also appoints seven others to lead different commands, as part of the ongoing measures towards strengthening security, tackling violent crimes, and enhancing optimal coordination of policing operations across Nigeria.   By Awajis George A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded a former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers, Sunny Bekanwa on alleged sponsorship of cultists that led to the murder of two prominent sons of Ogoni in the area. According to the remand warrant sighted by our Correspondent, Mr.Bekanwa is alleged to have sponsored cultists that led to the murder of Doctor Lucky  Keena and Engineer Deyaa Dunsara in Khana Local government Area, an offence which some individuals are already standing trial at the state High Court.   By Awajis George  A Rivers State High Court sitting in Isiokpo Division Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state has issued an interim order restraining the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Speaker of the House, Martin Amaewhule from carrying out any actions with respect to the impeachment of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara . Also restrained are Deputy Speaker, the Clerk of the House and the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor--Amadi . The case was filed by Damian Okoro SAN on behalf of the governor. Presiding Judge, Justice Ben  Whyte issued the order following a suit filed against the defendants and directed that party should maintained status quo pending the determination of the Motion on Notice and thereafter adjourned to 14th of November , 2023 for motion on notice.
