The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers State Chapter, has congratulated her member Mrs. Ann Godwin, for winning the prestigious Wole Soyinka Journalism Award in Leadership.
In a statement by the Chairperson Susan Serekara-Nwikhana
and Secretary Dr Ngozi Anosike,
the association described the award as well deserved and commended the recipient, Ann Godwin for exhibiting so much intelligence and professionalism.
NAWOJ further commended the Rivers State Guardian Newspaper Correspondent for creating a platform "Step Up Media Network " aimed at training and mentoring female journalists in the state and enjoined her to keep up the good work.
The association also recalled that Mrs Ann Godwin has in the past won other awards in journalism and congratulated her for achieving this uncommon feat adding that the association is proud of her outstanding qualities in Investigative Journalism.
It also expressed hope that more female journalists in the state will key into the various opportunities available for awards and grants while advising them to keep pushing irrespective of the challenges they may face.
