Marry Good Women: Rivers CP Encourages Police Officers

The dance galore, the cheers, the shouts, the smiles and the waist twisting were the jeers at Agwut Obolo in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State as Corporal Jonah Ogwuokwa tied the knot with his heartthrob former Miss. Atainu-Awaji Geoffrey on Saturday, 11th May, 2024.

The joyful event heightened as the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu graced the wedding ceremony to celebrate with the excited couple accompanied by some top management of the Police force.

Speaking at the occasion, the Rivers State Police Commissioner stated that marriage is a sweet union noting that one of the ways to make it joyful is to avoid secrets, respect the wishes of everybody and most importantly love yourselves.

CP Disu pointed out that it is needful for policemen to marry a good and understanding wife,noting that it takes only a good wife to bear with the working strength of a policeman whose work requires him to work from one place to the other protecting lives and properties.

While pointing out that no marriage is free from challenges but that the requisite is on the couple to put out best modalities to solve the challenges in their marriage.
They are both from different backgrounds, they (couples) will need to study themselves and understand each other. They saw themselves, they like themselves, they talked to themselves and they agreed to fall into that union, they should try everything possible to work, he advised.
The Rivers Stated Police boss did not also fail to point out that no couple should endure abuse marriage. According to him, it is better to stay away than to be in an abusive marriage.

On his part, the groom , Mr.Ogwuokwa Junior expressed joy and gave gratitude to God for making him a married man.
I feel delighted seeing my coworkers, my friends and families celebrating with me...by God's infinite grace and mercy I have been able to do this (wedding) today, so I am very very delighted and happy, he stated.
The groom also appreciated the Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Olatunji Disu for coming to his occasion to celebrate with him.

Meanwhile, the elders in council of Uwu-Ile Royal house, owners of Ngo town in Andoni Local Government Area welcomed the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu as he attended the wedding occasion of their son.

Receiving the Police boss, the elders in council appreciated the CP for coming to their community describing it as an "August Visitation" in May.

Also, CP Disu x-raying the security situation in Andoni Local Government Area took a ride from Ngo to Agwut Obolo, expressing pleasure with the level of peace in the communities and encouraged the people of Andoni to keep it, while also pleading for support from the people to report any anti-social activities so the peace in the area will be maintained.
