Father of Three Kills Wife few Days to International Women's Day Celebration In Port Harcourt

As the world approaches the International Women's Day, a man identified as Mr. Michael Chidozie working with a Civil Society Organizations in Port Harcourt has been arrested and detained by the Police in Rivers State, for allegedly beating his thirty -two year old wife and mother of three children, Mrs Ufuoma Chidozie to death on the early hours of Tuesday March 5th, ,2024 in Agip axis of Mile 4, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.


We gathered  that after Mrs Chidozie died as a result of injuries she sustained from the alleged physical assault, Mr Chidozie, the suspect  fled after calling the brother of the deceased,  to come to the house stating an emergency situation.

When the brother to the deceased came to the house of Mr. Chidozie,  he found the lifeless body of Mrs. Chidozie, his sister  but did not meet the husband at home. 

Meanwhile, some friends of Mrs Chidozie who spoke to our correspondent alleged that Mr Chidozie was in the habit of beating  his wife on daily basis without provocation.  

Our correspondent gathered that the suspect, Mr. Chidozie was arrested on Wednesday morning by Police personnel  attached to Agip Police Division,Mile 4,Port Harcourt following credible intelligence gathering.

On her part, The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the arrest of Mr Chidozie.

SP  Iringe-Koko, told our Correspondent  that the suspect has been arrested and transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID),Port Harcourt for discreet investigation.

A source in the Police conversant with the nature of the alleged crime revealed  that Autopsy will be carried out on the corpse of late Mrs Chidozie to ascertain the veracity of allegation against the suspect, while the  remains of Mrs Ufuoma Chidozie has been deposited in the mortuary.
