OPINION - ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY: A CALL FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND UNITY IN NIGERIA AS APGA NATIONAL CHAIRMAN HONORED THE ARMED FORCES ALONG WITH THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE, PROFESSOR CHUKWUMA SOLUDO

As we observe this year's Armed Forces Remembrance Day, The APGA National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa reminded of the profound sacrifices made by our brave soldiers in defending Nigeria’s unity, sovereignty, and peace.

It is a day that calls us to reflect on the supreme price paid by our fallen heroes and to renew our commitment to building a stronger, more united Nigeria.

In Awka, the APGA National Chairman, had the privilege of joining APGA esteemed National Leader and the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for a solemn Mass held in honor of those who laid down their lives for our nation.

The Holy Mass, presided over by His Lordship, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, offered prayers not only for the repose of the souls of our departed servicemen and women but also for the safety of those currently serving, and for enduring peace and stability across Nigeria.

This occasion is more than a ceremonial gathering; it is a moral obligation for every Nigerian to support our armed forces, uphold the values of patriotism, and foster national unity. The sacrifices of our heroes remind us that peace and progress are not given but earned through dedication, resilience, and a collective resolve to develop our nation.

As we honor our fallen heroes, the APGA Chieftain – the National Chairman, commended the Anambra State Government under Professor Soludo’s leadership for its unwavering support for security agencies and efforts to protect the lives and property of our citizens.

True national development begins with a secure environment where enterprise, education, and democracy can flourish.

In the spirit of this remembrance, let us renew our pledge to work together—government, citizens, and all stakeholders—to ensure that Nigeria remains steadfast in its pursuit of peace, prosperity, and progress. Our heroes’ sacrifices serve as a reminder that our collective efforts are essential in shaping a brighter future for our beloved nation.

May the souls of our heroes continue to rest in peace, and may Nigeria find the strength and unity to move forward.
Long Live Nigeria!
