ONELGA Former Council Boss Debunks Alleged Social Media Information linking Him To Purported Replacement Of Rivers Deputy Governor

The attention of Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru has been drawn to a publication circulating on certain social media platforms, including Port Harcourt Force and Inside Port Harcourt, alleging that he was directed to mobilise stakeholders from ONELGA to pressure the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, into replacing the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu.

While the claims are unfounded and lack credibility, the potential for this misinformation to mislead the public and heighten political tension necessitates a formal response.

Honourable Umejuru categorically denies the allegation in its entirety. He states that at no point was he instructed by any individual or group to undertake such actions, nor has he considered, supported, or participated in any effort aimed at undermining the office or person of the Deputy Governor.

He further reiterates his unwavering loyalty and respect for Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, whom he describes as a distinguished leader, mentor and mother. Hon. Umejuru acknowledges her contributions to governance, as well as her commitment to peace, stability, and sustainable development in Rivers State.

According to him, he remains firmly opposed to any agenda capable of fostering division or destabilising the state’s leadership and would not associate himself with such efforts under any circumstances.

The public are therefore urged to disregard the publication, which he characterises as a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation and create unnecessary discord.

Honourable Umejuru maintains his commitment to unity, loyalty, and the continued progress of Rivers State.
