Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara says the Inspector General of Police should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order during tomorrow’s Local Government Election.
Addressing journalists in Government House, Governor Fubara lamented that the action of police to take over the office of the Rivers State Independent National Commission, RSIEC is a deliberate effort to create anarchy in the state.
The Governor reiterated that the Local Government Election will take place as scheduled despite failure of police to provide security during the polls.
Governor Fubara assured Rivers people that the State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC have put in place measures to ensure the smooth process of the election.
He called on Rivers people to come out en masse to vote for their preferred candidates during tomorrow’s polls.
The Rivers State Governor also thanked the people of the state for their peaceful disposition despite the provocation from the police.
