An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt will on Thursday, 28th of this month determine if the National Convention of PDP will be held as scheduled by the party.
This followed after the former National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus’s lawyer Tayo Oyetubo raised a motion for Interim injunction against the conduct of the convention.
When the matter came up for hearing today, the motion for the interim injunction was not entertained since six other members of the Peoples Democratic Party filed an application for joinder.
The defendants’ lawyer including those who joined in the suit however opposed the moving of the motion for Interim injunction by Secondus’ lawyer, Mr.Oyetubo.
Our correspondent reports that the three man Appeal panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani after listening to the argument from the parties, ordered lawyers to the plaintiff to serve the process to the defendants’ lawyers within twenty-four hours.
The Judge also asked respondents’ lawyers to respond within twenty-four hours before he adjourned the matter to 28th of October, for hearing and possible ruling on the motion.
Meanwhile, lawyer to the former National chairman of PDP, Tayo Oyetubo explained in detail what transpired in court especially on the reason why the court adjourned till Thursday this week.
In the meantime, lawyer to the five PDP chairmen who dragged the former National Chairman to court Henry Bello also spoke on the suit.
