FRSC Indicates Readiness To Handle Emergency During Yuletide

 As the Christmas and Newyear celebrations are around the corner, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC; says it is ready for any emergency that may occur during the period.

 

Rivers State Sector Commander, FRSC; Mr Salisu Galadunci stated this during an exercise “operation show readiness”; organized by the Sector at Federal Government Parks; Choba branch in Obio Akpor local government area of the state.


Mr . Galadunci while explaining that the exercise is carried out to sensitized  road users especially motorists on the need to be cautious using the road , advised the public to always call the agency emergency number 122 in case of emergency situations.

Mr Galadunci said their target is to celebrate zero road crashes during and after the Yuletide season.

 He noted that the Corps does  not work in isolation during emergency situations but partner sister agencies for effective service delivery.

Mr Galadunci admonished residents in the state to always give the exact location of crash scenes to the agency  to save lives.
 
On his part, National Emergency Management Agency  NEMA,South South Zonal Coordinator Mr Godwin Tepikor said the agency decided to join FRSC in the exercise to show Rivers people that they are ready in the event of emergency.

Mr Tepikor stated that one of the core Mandate of NEMA is to monitor the state of preparedness of its stakeholders which FRSC is one .


Also, Assistant Supretendent one Federal Fire Service Mr Iboriyo Igolimo  advised residents to be mindful of their activities and refrain from causing fire Outbreaks through their actions and inactions.


He debunked the motion that the agency are always with empty tanks when responding to fire emergency.

Also speaking,Chairman Federal Government Park Choba branch Mr Authority Wala claimed that drivers from the park do not over load their vehicles and that they maintained speed limit while driving.

The exercise was attended by drivers, the police and some NYSC Corp Members.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
