Lady Scalded With Burning Stove Allegedly By Police Officer Discharged From Hospital,Insist On Justice

 



The 32 year old lady,miss Jane Amos who was allegedly sc

alded with burning stove by a Police Officer in Rumuokwuta,Obio Akpor Local Government Area last month has dismissed insinuation making the rounds that she has dropped the case.

Miss.Amos told journalists shortly after she was discharged from the hospital over the weekend that there was no iota of truth in the rumour.

She said that the Police Officers investigating the case from State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department ,SCIID; visited her  at the hospital and took her statement on the matter.

Miss Amos noted that it is a clear case of attempted murder.

"My being alive today is an act of God,
even though there is pressure from some quarters on me and my family to abandon the case,I  want to state clearly that I have not and will not abandon the case. I want Justice to be seen and  done in the matter.I have suffered severe pains,trauma and great financial loss since the day the incident occurred.I call on the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Mr. Eboka Friday to use his good office to ensure Justice is not denied me in the matter".

 She thanked the media,Human Rights organizations and Nigerians for all their efforts in ensuring Justice is done in the matter.

Rivers State Acting Police Public Relations Officer Mrs Grace Iringe-Koko  had earlier confirmed the arrest and detention of the Police Officer while adding that investigation is ongoing .

As of the time of filing this report,it was not clear if the Police officer who was arrested then is still in police custody.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
