Man Machetes Lawfully Wedded Wife For Side Chick

 


A man  identified as Chima and his female friend  have allegedly used machete to inflict injuries on his wife at Omerelu community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State .

The ugly incident happened when the wife,Wakaego Chima queried the husband why he brought his female friend home.

An elder brother of the victim, Anayo Warisi , in an interview with our Correspondent said  his sister's husband brought  his lover to the house and the wife asked why he would bring her home,the man and his lover beat the wife , while the husband allegedly used a machete to inflict serious injuries on her.


"My elder sister and brother took her to hospital at Elele,she was rejected.The hospital said the wound is much and they took her to UPTH.
"We want the husband arrested because is a case of attempted murder".



A Human Rights group,Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has therefore called for a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent men taking laws into their hands.

 Secretary of the group,Mrs. Gladys Oyenmwen, demands a thorough investigation into the alleged use of machete by the woman's husband and his female lover to injure the lawfully wedded  wife .


Mrs.Oyenmwen added that domestic violence under whatever guise has no place in the society and should not be condoned irrespective of who is involved. 

 Meanwhile,Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident,stated that the female friend of the man has been arrested by Elele Police Division through the effort of Commissioner of Police,  Eboka Friday.

SP Iringe Koko said the Commissioner of Police, CP Friday has ordered that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigations.
