Massive Defection Hits PDP In Ikwerre LGA As Scores Of Persons Joins APC












Over three hundred members of the  Peoples Democratic Party in the state have defected to the All Progressives Congress in Isiokpo Ward 1 and 2 in Ikwerre Local Government Area .

The defection took place during a PVC sensitization rally in Isiokpo.

One of the leaders of PDP in the area,Mr. Chris  Chima-Wachije and Mr. Galaxy  Eleru who spoke on behalf of the defectors claimed that they never benefited anything from their former party after working for their victory in previous elections instead they benefited from APC member, Chris  Oyirinda-Amadi .

They assured the leadership of their new party of working for the victory of APC and all the candidates in the forthcoming general elections and beyond which they said would help them secure a better future.

Receiving the defectors, state Chairman of APC, Chief Emeka  Beke who was represented by state legal Adviser of the party , Mr. Iheanchukwu Dike  said the party believes in meeting the people at the grassroot rather than using state resources to buy members .

He assured the defectors that the party runs an open and all inclusive system.

Minaibim Harry Emerges As National Rescue Movement Governorship Candidate

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026. The Senior Magistrate informed the litigant on how the court had wanted to issue a bench warrant against him if not for the intervention of his lawyer who pleaded that he the litigant was sick and needed medical attention.
