Stop Extortion Of Money From Parents ,Students, Rivers Commissioner For Education Warns

 




The Rivers State Commissioner for Education Prof Prince Chinedu Mmom  has warned Principals of Public Schools to stop extorting money from parents and students in the name of admission.

The commissioner who stated this today at a meeting with Principals of public Schools held at Government Girls Secondary School Oromenike said parents and students were complaining bitterly that some Principals are charging outrageous fees for admission knowing that admission into public schools is free.

He called on those involved in such illegal collection to desist from such act as anyone caught will be discipline.

He further advised the Principals to gird  their work jealously by avoiding such acts that will attract punishment to them adding that education remains free in Rivers State as admission into public schools also is free.

Prof. Mmom also told them that he did not send anyone to schools to harass  Principals or teachers as complained by some Principals saying that anyone who comes to any school without authorized letter from him should be reported to his office or be arrested.

The commissioner further charge them to follow all directives from government and the Ministry in uploading of Continuous Assessment of SS3 students to both WAEC and NECO designated websites as preparations for registration for the exams saying that the two examination bodies have made the continuous Assessment upload compulsory for WAEC and NECO registrations.

In his vote of thanks, the president of All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (Ancopss) Comrade Ewo Ella Gordin thanked the commissioner for carrying the Principals along on issues that concerns them and always calling them to order whenever they err.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
