Rivers State Governorship Candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Patrick Tonye-Cole , Social Democratic Party, Senator Magnus Abe, African Democratic Congress, Tonte Ibraye , Accord, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and others staged a protest to the Rivers State Police Command in Port Harcourt.
The protest organised by Governorship Candidates of all the opposition political parties in tomorrow's Governorship election in the state is following the order declaring over twenty eight persons of opposition parties wanted by the State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The Governor during his statewide broadcast yesterday ahead of the gubernatorial election, declared Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, Gabriel Pidomson, Bright Nwinyoodee and other grassroots politicians across Rivers State wanted for alleged criminality.
Others declared wanted are Barika Bareh, Friday Sinee, Dumbari Deezua, Neeka Ikina, Giobari Poiba, Barisi Bonikoo, Mike Amachree, Paul Lawrence Paul, Anosike Odua, Mr. Ogbams, Ojimah, Kenneth Chinda Smiles Azundah.
The governor also declared Gift Welebe., Nwobueze Amadi, Chidi Wosa, Ugochukwu Wosu, Ndidi Erim, Lucky Mmai, Baridi Edmund Katara, Solo Filiman, Charles Anyanwu, Christian Don Pedro,Iworiabo Amachree and Arokosimiya Ikalama wanted
The Governorship Candidate of APC, Patrick Tonye-Cole while addressing Newsmen at the Command's Headquarters demanded the Inspector General of Police to instruct that no political arrest should be made and those arrested must be released immediately.
On their parts, Governorship Candidates of Accord, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and Social Democratic Party, Senator Magnus Abe expressed displeasure over the happenings in Rivers State and threatened to resist every attempt to enslave the people.
The Candidates also threatened to resist any electoral procedure that did not follow due process to produce any Governor in the state, warning that INEC and security agencies must up their game to handle the situation.
Our Correspondent reports that one of the election Supervising Commissioners of Police was present when the protesters arrived the command but excused them to wait after one hour for the meeting but never came back to address the protesters.
