Stakeholders Commend INEC Over Peaceful Election In Andoni



Some leaders in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC; for a credible,free and fair election in the Area.


Chairman of the Council Mr.Erastus Awortu while answering questions from Journalists said INEC has improved tremendously compare to the presidential election.


Mr. Awortu who voted at Unit five Ward nine noted that as early as 6am materials moved to various Wards of the Area.

The Chairman explained that the Area was calmed as electorates moved out to cast their votes for their prefer candidates.


On his part, PDP House of Assembly Candidate Mr. Ofiks Kagban also commended INEC for the peaceful conduct of election in Ward five Ikuru Town.


The House of Assembly hopeful noted that the BIVAS work effectively unlike the Presidential Election.


Similarly, member Representing Andoni Opobo Nkoro Federal Constituency Mr.Awaji-Inombek Abiante while casting his vote at Unit 28 Ward 1 Ngo commended INEC for early arrival of materials to Units ,noted that no pocket of violence was experience in the area.


Speaking further, Former Andoni Council chairman Mr.Orom Ereoforokuma explained that the cash crunch in Nigeria affected the turnout of voted.


Mr. Ereoforokuma alleged that in some polling units in the Ward party Agents complained of BIVAS having inputted figures before commencement of election.


Also Speaking, One time Rivers State Commissioner for Work Mr. Sampson Ngerebara described the turnout of electorates as impressive.


Mr. Ngerebara who is also the leader of APC in Andoni Local Government Area noted that party Agents inspect materials from the RAG center before it was distributed .


Our Correspondent  report that election in Andoni was relatively peaceful as electorates were seen casting their votes.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
