Rivers State Police Command Deploys Officers For Easter Celebration

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP. Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of officers across the state to ensure maximum security of lives and property during the Easter celebration.   CP. Disu directed all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police officers to deploy personnel and allocate resources to strategic locations within their areas of responsibility.   Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said, locations to watch closely include churches, parks, event centers, as well as entry and exit routes in the state.   According to the statement, officers deployed on the highways have been instructed to maintain a high level of vigilance and professionalism while carrying out their duties.   CP. Native Doctor, Others Arrested For Cars Snatching In Rivers State

 By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu Over twenty five suspects, including a witch doctor were paraded by the Rivers State police command for car snatching. Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu while parading the suspects at the Police headquarters in Port Harcourt, said  Chidube,Anthony and kelechi are major culprits in car snatching business.       CP Disu briefing Newsmen at the Command's headquarters in Port Harcourt   CP Disu disclosed that Chidube trains his men on car snatching and  he is linked to all suspects arrested while Kelechi is an expert in removing car trackers . The Rivers Police boss stated that most of the cars stolen are taken to Kano,Anambra,where they detached the vehicles and sold as scrap. CP Disu noted that seventy nine cars have been linked to the suspects .He also revealed that most of the suspects met at correctional centre. CSO Harps On Early Warning Response To Combat Security Challenges In Communities

Suspected Cultists Kills Printer In Diobu Port Harcourt

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu     Viewers discretion is advised  Gunmen suspected to be cultists on Saturday night,15th March,2024 shot dead one identified as George Soporuchi a printer at Abakiliki street close to Emenike, Mile 1 Diobu, PortHarcourt. Some eyewitnesses who claimed anonymous told our correspondent that the gunmen trailed the printer to Abakiliki close to Emenike street at about 8:30 pm and shot him dead while he was discussing with someone. The eyewitnesses also revealed that the gunmen carted away his motorcycle and one of his mobile phone. Police In Rivers State Recovers Skull Of Late DPO SP Angbashim

 By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu The Rivers State Police Command has recovered the remains of SP Bako Angbashim, a former Divisional Police Officer ,DPO; of Ahoada Division in Rivers State who was murdered by Gift Okpara popularly known as 2Baba. Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement, stated that on Sunday, March 10, 2024, a coordinated joint operation was carried out by tactical squads from the Rivers State Police Command and personnel from the Force Intelligence Bureau.  According to the statement,the  operation targeted the camp of the deceased cult leader, 2Baba, situated within the forested region of Odiemude Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area. Rivers State Government To Revisit Ignatius Ajuru University Of Education Employment Process

Siminalayi Fubara, says the cancelled employment process at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, due to intolerable irregularities, will be revisited. This is as the governor assured that a new governing council was now in place to oversee the process and ensure elimination of the irregularities that hampered the previous process. Governor Fubara gave the assurance in Port Harcourt when he received some protesters who came to register their grievances as victims of the failed process. The Governor, who was represented by the Head of Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, told the protesters that it is not correct that the Governor Fubara-led administration had neglected them or abandoned the process.
