Journalists Charged To Embrace Digital Skills

Female journalists have been urged to step up in their skills in order to meet up with the trends of the global world.

 

The call was made at a one-day capacity building workshop on 'Maximising New Media Platforms' held in Port Harcourt by

Step-up for Women in Journalism Initiative.

 The team lead, Mrs. Ann Godwin stressed the need for journalists especially the females to improve themselves in skills, career and make use of any opportunity to upgrade.

Mrs. Godwin stated that it pays to be more innovative and creative in everything one does.

 

Two speakers, a broadcast journalist also an Entrepreneur, Dr. Ijeoma Tubosia, and a digital expert, Mr. Paul Chimodo, charged journalists especially veterans, to scale up their digital skills to enable them to improve their career prospects and earning potential.

The speakers stated that most challenges faced by journalists are self-inflicted as they have failed to upgrade themselves on current digital tools.

Father of Three Kills Wife few Days to International Women's Day Celebration In Port Harcourt

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu As the world approaches the International Women's Day, a man identified as Mr. Michael Chidozie working with a Civil Society Organizations in Port Harcourt has been arrested and detained by the Police in Rivers State, for allegedly beating his thirty -two year old wife and mother of three children, Mrs Ufuoma Chidozie to death on the early hours of Tuesday March 5th, ,2024 in Agip axis of Mile 4, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence

The State Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Honourable Ilamu Arugu, made this commitment during a meeting with the Heads of the subcommittee on GBV prevention in the State.
