Four Injured As Man Open Fire In Rivers Community

By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu   Rivers State Police Command has confirmed a violent attack at Elele Roundabout in Ikwerre Local Government Area, at about 7am on the 5th of March 2025. In a statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that acting on credible intelligence regarding the unlawful assembly of suspected hoodlums at the location, a patrol team from Elele Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), swiftly mobilized to the scene to restore order. According to the statement, during an attempt to address the crowd, an unidentified assailant, hiding within the vicinity, opened fire resulting in multiple injuries, injuring about four persons. Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission To Conduct Local Government Election In August

By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC,  has unveiled the 9th of August 2025 for the conduct of Local Government Elections across the state. Chairman of the Commission, retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli during a stakeholders meeting  for the unveiling  of timetable and guidelines for the election said the commission is working to ensure general acceptability of the outcome of the election. While calling on stakeholders to act right during and after the election, retired Justice Enebeli promised an atmosphere devoid of suspicion and rancour.

FCT Police Command Debunk Case of Kidnap Over Scenario Leading To Parradang's Death

By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has debunked the rumors making round  that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr.David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and subsequently killed. According to a statement from the command,on March 3, 2025, at about 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, driving a black Mercedes Benz.  He checked into the hotel, paid a sum of twenty thousand naira for one night's stay. Shortly thereafter, he directed the room attendant to escort a female guest to his room. The lady left the hotel premises around 4:00pm same day. Mr. Parradang did not exit his room after the lady left. At about 4:00 am the next day, a friend of of Mr. Parradang, a military officer, traced him to the hotel.
