In a firm stance against claims of opposition strength within Anambra State, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has publicly dismissed reports suggesting that parties such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other political entities possess significant structures or electoral influence in the state.
Speaking during an interview on TVC News Politics Tonight n 21st August 2025, Barrister Ezeokenwa emphasized that these parties are virtually absent in Anambra, existing only on paper without tangible grassroots support or organized structures.
He pointed to recent by-elections as evidence of their weakness, noting that their candidates performed poorly at the polls.
"In Anambra, there is no political party with any genuine struggle anywhere. The ADC candidate, for instance, is practically unknown in this state. The first time I even heard his name was shortly before the election. His party, just like others, exists only in theory and not on the ground.
The last election result confirmed this—where their candidate scored less than 2% of the total votes in Anambra South, and could not even garner support from his own local government or community. That speaks volumes about the so-called structure they claim to have," Barrister Ezeokenwa stated.
He reaffirmed APGA’s dominance in the state, asserting that the party continues to enjoy the full confidence of Ndi Anambra.
The party’s electoral successes and the ongoing people-centered governance under Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, serve as testament to APGA’s stronghold and credibility within the state.
Concluding his remarks, Barrister Ezeokenwa reaffirmed APGA’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy, fostering good governance, and ensuring that Ndi Anambra continue to feel the tangible benefits of purposeful leadership.
