 Written By Nduka Anyanwu

Earlier in the day – 17th September 2025, APGA National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, expressed his support and encouragement for various community-led efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process and fostering development in Nigeria and Anambra State as a case study

In a courtesy visit, Ezeokenwa received the executives of the
Catch Them Young Community Initiative (CATYCOL) and the Youth Led Electoral Reform Project (YERP-Naija) Consortium.

He described the engagement as a "valuable platform to deliberate on critical issues such as constitutionality, election credibility thresholds and outcomes, and popular participation in the democratic process."

He added that he "thoroughly reviewed their Electoral Reform Project guidelines and offered pragmatic insights drawn from my dual experience as a lawyer and an active politician."

The APGA leader commended the teams for their dedication to community-driven projects and their efforts to address fundamental challenges facing Nigeria’s democracy.

"I also encourage all non-state actors across Nigeria, who are leading initiatives that question and seek to strengthen our democratic credibility, to continue their vital work," he stated.

Later, Ezeokenwa received the executives of the Ebony Town Union Association, led by their President-General, Mr. Moses Igwe. The group’s visit was to convey gratitude for the remarkable achievements of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, particularly in transforming the Okpoko slum into what is now known as ‘Okpoko New Haven.’

He emphasized that the transformation underscores how the Ebonyi community is being embraced as one family under Prof. Soludo’s leadership.

In his remarks, Ezeokenwa reaffirmed that an APGA government remains committed to policies that prioritize the people’s welfare. "Anambra is truly on the rise," he said, adding that the government’s focus remains on improving the ease of living and business.

With these developments, Ezeokenwa concluded that the future of Anambra State is bright, driven by community support and progressive leadership.
