  Residents of Rivers State have been assured that all those involved in the killing of a young lady in Ahoada West Local Government Area will be brought to justice. The chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Mr. Eugene Epelle, gave the assurance while leading his team, alongside security operatives, to Ogoda Community, where the body of the unnamed victim was recovered from a stream. The Rivers State Police Command has rescued one Loveth, a resident of the State, who was kidnapped while seating in front of her shop. A statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Blessing Agabe, said on the 2nd of this month, the victim was accosted by armed men who fired shots into the air before forcefully abducting her and taking her away in a vehicle. According to the statement, operatives of the Eleme Police Division commenced intelligence-led operations to track down the perpetrators. The operation led to the arrest of one suspect, Victor Ini, aged thirty five years, a member of the kidnapping gang.   The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday, presented cheques totalling N2.32bn to 2,971 beneficiaries and next-of-kin of deceased police officers under the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Schemes. The beneficiaries comprised families of police officers who died in service and were covered under the 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and 2024/2025 insurance policy years.
