IGP Disu stressed that the true measure of the conference would be the changes recorded across the Force after participants return to their respective Commands.   Residents of Rivers State have been assured that all those involved in the killing of a young lady in Ahoada West Local Government Area will be brought to justice. The chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Mr. Eugene Epelle, gave the assurance while leading his team, alongside security operatives, to Ogoda Community, where the body of the unnamed victim was recovered from a stream. Speaking after the recovery of the body, the Chairman, condemned the killing and confirmed that two suspects are currently in police custody in connection with the incident. "It was just yesterday. We gathered that the fire was put out through the efforts of community youths. According to sources,the fire was caused by petrol which was ignited by a spark. Many Nigerians understandably heard that as a warning to policemen. But perhaps the more interesting interpretation was that the warning was broader: impunity, whoever wears it, has no uniform. That distinction matters. In April, when 28-year-old Mene Ogidi was shot dead in Effurun, Delta State, after police operatives reportedly intercepted him over a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition, the response from the Force was unusually swift.  The principal officer, ASP Nuhu Usman, and other members of the team were removed from the command and subjected to disciplinary proceedings. IGP Disu stated this during a live television programme to commemorate the International Day of Police Cooperation, where he stressed the importance of trust and collaboration between the police and the communities they serve. The Rivers State Police Command has rescued one Loveth, a resident of the State, who was kidnapped while seating in front of her shop. A statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Blessing Agabe, said on the 2nd of this month, the victim was accosted by armed men who fired shots into the air before forcefully abducting her and taking her away in a vehicle. According to the statement, operatives of the Eleme Police Division commenced intelligence-led operations to track down the perpetrators. The operation led to the arrest of one suspect, Victor Ini, aged thirty five years, a member of the kidnapping gang.
