Police warn Ogoni Youth Federation on planned protest to Government House tomorrow

The Rivers State police command said its attention has been drawn to the Threats and counter Threats making the rounds by some youth bodies in Ogoni, especially the threat by the Ogoni Youth Federation Worldwide on the planned protest to the Rivers State Government House scheduled to hold tomorrow Thursday 29th August, 2019. Rivers State police Public Relations Officer Mr. Nnamdi Omoni in a press statement said the Command is not unaware of the fact that, Citizens have the right to Protest, however such Rights are not absolute as they could be derogated from when it is perceived that the Protest will undermine the peace and security of the State. The police stated that in this particular case, Intelligence at their disposal revealed that, the said Protest is ill-conceived, and most worrisome is that the group has been infiltrated with all manner of miscreants who want to hijack, destabilize the process and cause breakdown of law and order in the State. Consequently, the Command is using the medium to call on the organizers of the planned protest to call it off and explore other civic ways and means of seeking redress and drawing the attention of the Government to their plights, other than the Protest. The police image maker stressed that the Command, wish to state unequivocally that they would not sit back nor spare any efforts in dealing with any group whose actions or inactions threaten the peace already enjoyed in the State.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026. The Senior Magistrate informed the litigant on how the court had wanted to issue a bench warrant against him if not for the intervention of his lawyer who pleaded that he the litigant was sick and needed medical attention.
