Some youths in Rivers Community Denounce cultism

Members of warring cult groups in Alakahia Community Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have denounced membership of various cult groups. Some of the repentant cult members who spoke at the event recounted how they were lured into cultism by the activities of some community leaders and chieftaincy tussle. The repentant cultists while calling on all aggrieved youths to shield their sword and be united, also want the chiefs and community leaders to do the right thing for the development of the youths just as they called on government to intervene and end the root cause of the problem in the community. Paramount ruler of the Community , Eze Daniel Ogbondah-Dodo encouraged the youths not to get involved in any social vices , warning that those who would not want the peace of the community will not also have peace, just as he promised that he and his cabinet will continue to ensure the peace and security of the area. Earlier, chairman peace and reconciliation committee, Chisa Awuri said the move was for the peace and development of the community, saying that development can only thrived in a peaceful atmosphere. On his part, Choba Police Area Commander who spoke on behalf of representatives of Security agencies expressed happiness of the decision of the youths ,and advised the repentant cultists never to go back to their former lives but help in the development of the community. Our correspondent reports that the Alakahia repentant cultists were made to signed a document containing conditions of denouncing cultism which included if return to cultism will be arrested and prosecuted .

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
