Help us IPOB have taken over our homes: Residents of Iriebe lament

Some concerned House owners at the Rivers State School to land Housing Estate, Iriebe have called on the Government and Security Personnel to come to their aid and save the Estate from suspected cultists whom they alleged have forcefully taken possession of unoccupied property in the Estate. The Property owners said the suspected cultists branded themselves as members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and said they were turning the School to land Estate into the Headquarters of IPOB in Rivers State. A Landlord in the estate who does not want his name mentioned, said the situation has thrown the residents into fear and helplessness. Paramount Ruler of Iriebe Town, King Jeremiah Nworenwo who also acknowledged the situation, said the Oyigbo Police Station has been put in the know of the state of affairs in the estate. While reacting to other allegations that a relative of his known as Musho Nworenwo gave the suspected cultists access into the Estate and is spearheading the activities of the suspected hoodlums, the Paramount ruler agreed to the allegations but added that the said Musho did what he did without the consent of the family and community. It was reported that the suspected cultists brandished machetes in the estate and threatened to kill legitimate owners of the property, should they come close to their houses. When contacted, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni said he would contact the Divisional Police Officer in the area for appropriate action.
