More trouble for PortHarcourt serial killer as court set to give him a lawyer

Rivers State Police Command has arraigned the suspected serial killer, Gracious David West before a State High Court Sitting in Port Harcourt. When the matter was mentioned for plea, no charge was read and no plea taken, the trail Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli adjourned till tomorrow, the 22nd of October for plea following the absence of the defence counsel after the prosecution counsel mentioned appearances. Justice Enebeli said it was necessary for the accused to have his lawyer under Rivers State Criminal Justice Act, for the sake of justice and fairness. Our Correspondent reports that Justice ENEBELI therefore ordered the suspected serial killer, Gracious David West to ensure he present his lawyer on the next or be read to accept any counsel to be nominated by the court to represent him. The Persecution Counsel, the Officer in Charge of Legal, Rivers State Police Command, Gladys Imeguwho is of the rank of Superintendent of Police narrated to newsmen what transpired in court and their readiness to prosecute the matter. The suspected serial killer, Gracious David West is accused of killing over fifteen female in different hotels in Rivers State and four other state with Rivers State leading with over ten victims hotels in the state. Gracious David West was arrested by men of Special Anti Robbery Squad along Ogoni- Akwa-Ibom axis of the East West road and was paraded by the state command where he has made several confessions.

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages.
