There was confusion at the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, secretariat, University of Port Harcourt chapter as some students under the auspices of the student union government disrupted an ongoing media briefing by the staff Union.
The students led by the SUG President Sowari Dikibo carried placards with different inscription such as "say no to ASUU strike", "say no to alteration of our academic calender", l"let four years be fours years" and chanting solidarity songs.
Efforts by the ASUU Chairman Dr. Austen Sado and the executives to placate the students proved abortive as they refused to leave the hall.
The students then forced their way to the platform and engaged in long session of solidarity songs as ASUU members, lecturers watched helplessly.
