Produce our husbands wives of Bille missing youths tell police

The people of Bille Kingdom in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers state are calling on the Nigerian police to immediately produce two of their missing youths Taminotonye Dei and Mr. Endurance Johnbull who were arrested along side ten persons by Anti cultism unit during between the Bille people and Krakrama community at the Rivers State secretariat on the seventeen of January this year. Ikoku four release as court strike out charges against them

A Magistrate court Sitting in Port Harcourt has struck out the charges against the popular Ikoku four persons who were earlier reminded and have been under detention at the Nigerian Correctional Service. Chief magistrate A. O Amadi-Nna struck out the charges and subsequently discharged and equite the four persons following the report of the department of public prosecution, DPP;which reveals that the suspects have no case to answer. Chief Magistrate, Amadi-Nna ruled that the DPP reports reveals that the charges against the Ikoku four by the police were unfounded and should not have come up in the first place. The Director of Public Prosecution, Ibiene Mbano in an interview with our correspondent disclosed details of what was contained in their investigative report and their reasons for the recommendations. Wife of late Chima accuse police of killing her husband

Wife of Late Chima Ikwunado an auto mechanic who died in police custody ,Mrs. Adaugo Chima is calling for justice for the death of her husband late Chima . 24years old Mrs. Chima who is expecting a baby appealed to the Rivers state government to prevail on the Nigerian Police to release the remains of her husband for burial. She debunked allegations that her late husband have high sugar level, noting that before she got married to her husband last year January a medical test was conducted . Residents of Kaani in Khana LGA of R/S decries government negligence in the area

Residents of Kaani in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State are calling for quick intervention owing to the poor state of infrastructures in the community.The residents lamented that despite being the largest community in khana local government area, the people have not enjoyed any dividends of democracy from the government . See what Rivers state government has done to residential buildings and shops because of flyover

Rivers state Government has commenced the demolition exercise of Buildings situated at the proposed sites for the three flyovers in Port Harcourt. Speaking during the exercise at Rebisi Area of Port Harcourt, the state commissioner for works Mr. Ben Chioma said the development of the State was paramount and that the directive of the State Governor Nyesom Wike to shop owners and residents will be followed to the latter. Mr. Chioma explained that due process was followed before the demolition exercise hence; residents have no legal grounds to complain about it. Reacting to the traffic situation at Rumuokoro due to ongoing construction of a flyover, the state commissioner for works said palliative measures would be put in place to ease the plight of road users.

More trouble for Niger Delta Basin Development Authority Boss as he is denied access to Office

Staff of Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, NDBDA; are demanding the immediate sack of their management team led by Engr. Tonye David West. You would recalled yesterday that staff and labour Union leaders started their three days protest against alleged embezzlement of songal farm project fund by the management. During the protest the Union called on EFCC,ICPC,Code of Conduct bureau to investigate the management. However there was a drama at the premises of the Authority in Port Harcourt today when the Managing director Engr.Tonye David West came to resume his duty as usual and was denied access to the premises by Union leaders and protesting staff. Meanwhile the protest will continue tomorrow.

Port Harcourt schools hit the ground running with early resumption

Schools in Port Harcourt metropolis complied with the directive of the State Government that all Government and Private Schools to resume today. Our correspondent who visited Some schools in Obio Akpor Local Government area reports that at Government Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta some students and teachers were seen around the school premises, while in Community Junior Secondary School and Community Primary School Olanada teachers and students were in classes. Principal Community Junior Secondary school Olanada Rumuola Mrs. Doris Chinwo said the state government is serious with the education sector and no teacher would want to lose their job hence the level of compliance by teachers at the resumption day. Mrs. Chinwo also said that she expect teachers to teach during their period and for students to attend classes.
