The people of Bille Kingdom in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers state are calling on the Nigerian police to immediately produce two of their missing youths Taminotonye Dei and Mr. Endurance Johnbull who were arrested along side ten persons by Anti cultism unit during between the Bille people and Krakrama community at the Rivers State secretariat on the seventeen of January this year.
Speaking to Newsmen in port Harcourt ,chairman Bille council of chiefs Alabo Bennett Okpokiye-Dokubo said the community were invited by the secretary to state government,SSG Dr.Tammy Danagogo in connection with a matter the SSG was handling between Bille people in Degema Local government area and Krakrama community in Asari Toru local government area over ownership of land on which an oil facility operated by Messrs Eroton Exploration and production limited .
Alabo Okpokiye-Dokubo noted that after weeks of interface with the police on how to secured their released, the matter was taken to court where seven of them were granted bail,but two of the youths arrested were missing.
He alleged that three other youths were inflicted with grievous matchet injuries by the anti cultism unit,demanding that those youths be given proper medical attention by the Nigerian police.
"For over a year Bille kingdom has been grappling with the issue of sea piracy in our water way between PortHarcourt and the Bille kingdom.During this period we have suffered immeasurable human and material losses, to which we are yet to receive any help from any quarter."
However, wives of the two missing persons Mrs. Songo Dei and Mrs. Emilia Johnbull said the police should provide their husbands alive,noting that they have checked various police stations without the trace of their husbands.
When contacted the Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, said his office has not been briefed and, promised to carry out investigations on the matter.
