Rivers state Government has commenced the demolition exercise of
Buildings situated at the proposed sites for the three flyovers in Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the exercise at Rebisi Area of Port Harcourt, the state commissioner for works Mr. Ben Chioma said the development of the State was paramount and that the directive of the State Governor Nyesom Wike to shop owners and residents will be followed to the latter.
Mr. Chioma explained that due process was followed before the demolition exercise hence; residents have no legal grounds to complain about it.
Reacting to the traffic situation at Rumuokoro due to ongoing construction of a flyover, the state commissioner for works said palliative measures would be put in place to ease the plight of road users.
