Police recover weapons from criminal camps in Rivers State

No fewer than fifty camps belonging to different criminal gangs operating in different areas of Rivers State have been destroyed by the combined team of Police and other security agencies in the State. State Commissioner of Police Mr. Mustapha Dandaura who stated this while parading some of the suspects arrested during the operations, said the operation took place in Khana, Gokhana, Emuohua, and Etche Local Government Area. Some of the weapons recovered from the suspects includes: fifteen ak-47 rifles, ten pump action guns, one hundred rounds of seven point six two ammunition, four Bareta Pistol, one G3 machine gun among other dangerous weapons. The Police Boss also stated that within the duration of the operation, three armed robbery attempts were foiled, while a total of twenty three suspects were arrested, and twenty laptop computers were also recovered. Mr. Dandaura spoke further on the commitment of the men of the command to ensure a more secured Rivers State. On the alleged killing of the Ikokwu auto mechanic, Mr. Chima Ikwunado, the Commissioner appealed to the public to be calm as the Police will soon come out with the true state of things on the matter. Mr. Dandaura while assuring the residents of readiness of the police to rid the state of criminal elements, called for the cooperation of the residents to win the battle against men of the underworld.

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages.
