Nigeria Police Force dismiss officer who shot sergeant Lovender in Rivers State

Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr.Joseph Mukan with top officers of the command today paid a condolence visit to the family of late woman Sergeant Lovender Elekwachi who was shot dead while on duty at Eneka in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state. Addressing the immediate family of the late police officer and traditional rulers in Ozuzu Clan Etche Local Government Area of the state, CP Mukan noted that investigation has been concluded against Sergeant Bitrus Osaiah who pull out the trigger, and he has been dismissed from service. CP Mukan while stating that sergeant Osaiah will be arraigned in court tomorrow said although investigations are ongoing on the members of taskforce who were at the scene of the incident assured that Justice must be done on the sergeant Osaiah. The Commissioner of police assured the family that the Inspector General of Police has been briefed about the incident and has promised that all the entitlement meant for the slain police officer, Sergeant Lovender Elekwachi must be given to her even in death. Our correspondent reports that the CP on behalf of the command presented undisclosed amount of cash to the berevead family of the late woman Sergeant which he said should be used to take care of the one year seven months baby of late Lovender. Meanwhile ,Family Lawyer of the late woman Sergeant, Jerome Chukwuemeka-Okere emphasized the need for the police to be open for consultation with the family as a means of ensuring that the right of the late Officer is not denied ,just as he called on the police to ensure that Justice is done in the matter to serve as Deterrent to others.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
