The Rivers State Police command has called on the public to disregard the rumours making rounds on social media that the remains of the Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area , Princewill Odiari was exhumed by unknown Gunmen who stormed PortHarcourt Cemetery yesterday.
Police Public Relations Officer ,PPRO Mr.Nnamdi Omoni who took media men to the cemetery confirmed that the grave of the late chairman is still intact.
Mr. Omoni said the rumours was the handiwork of some mischievous individuals who want to score cheap publicity.
The police spokesman stated that security will be beefed up around the area.
Meanwhile, the secretary of the PortHarcourt cemetery Mr. Tamunotonye John said the rumours came to them as a shock as nothing of such happened.
Mr. John appealed to security Agencies to secure the area as they are not armed to resist any attempt by any group of people who might have the intention of invading the place.
Our Correspondent who was at the PortHarcourt cemetery reports that the grave where the late chairman was buried was still intact.
