A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Rivers state Igo Aguma have been declared chairman of the caretaker committee of the party by the high court sitting in Port Harcourt.
In suit brought by Igo Aguma against the party and it's National leadership led by Adams Oshiomole approached the court to declare him the chairman caretaker committee of APC and to secure an injunction stopping ward, Local Government and State Congresses that was scheduled late last year, demanding that reconciliation be done before any Congress amongst other prayers.
Our Correspondent reports that delivering the Judgement, the presiding Judge, Justice George Omereji declared the applicant the reliefs sought as the chairman caretaker committee of the party pending when the Congresses in the state.
Speaking to journalists outside the court, Echezona Etiaba, counsel to Igo Aguma said the judgement is justice for democracy.
On his part
, Emenike Ebete, Counsel to All Progressives Congress said the party would approach the appellant court.
Ebete stated that the members of the caretaker committee were made up of more than fifty person, questioning what qualify Aguma to be the chairman of that committee.
