Court Sentence One Joseph Udoh to Death by Hanging For Killing An Ex-Banker in PortHarcourt

A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has sentenced one Joseph Udoh to death by hanging for killing Mr. Pascal Nnorum an ex banker with one of the new generation Banks in Rivers state . The suspect, Joseph Udoh was charge with one count charges bothering on murder. The suspect on the 13th of May 2017 was alleged to have killed the deceased along MTN link road Aba road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area when the Defendant scratched the car of the deceased, on approaching the Defendant, the late Pascal Nnorum held down the stirring of Mr.Joseph Udoh's car to show his grievances before the Defendant dragged the deceased on the ground from the MTN office to Oil mill market junction where the Defendant snatches the deceased on the culvert that divided the road by Elelewon junction. Delivering his Judgement, Justice Chiwendu Nworgu ruled that the prosecution has proven their case beyond reasonable doubt that the Defendant killed the deceased Pascal Nnorum and found guilty as charged. The judge further convicted and sentenced the Defendant to death by hanging on his neck until death, and pray God to have mercy on his soul. Shortly after the judgement Counsel to the Defendant , Edwin Woka who spoke with our Correspondent expressed his dissatisfaction over the judgement, stating that the judgement will be contested at the appeal court. Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
