Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Set up Hotlines to Fast Track Response to Rape Victims

The Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation in response to the increased and alarming statistics of Sexual and gender based violence has set up hotlines and collaborations to fast track immediate response to victims of Sexual abuse and other forms of violence. The Ministry is working in collaboration with other organizations to provide Counselling, Medical help, Psychological help, Legal Aid and prosecution of offenders. Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Pastor Dehumanizing Children In Rivers State Cools Off In Police Net

  By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has arrested pastor Ifediorah Onyeibor Joseph, aged 41,following a video showing the dehumanizing of minors circulating on social media. According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, Preliminary investigations revealed that Pastor Joseph allegedly organized a 3-day program for children in his Church, purportedly for "spiritual cleaning," claiming to have been inspired by the Holy Spirit. SP Iringe-Koko noted that upon receiving the information, Operatives from the Command through coordinated intelligence, arrested the pastor and several Church members at the scene.
