Port Harcourt High Court Strikes out Murder Charges Against SARS Commander

High Court sitting in PortHarcourt has struck out the fundamental Human Right case against the Nigeria Police, Former commander of F-SARs in Rivers State Akin Fakorede and the police service commission brought before it by wife of late Ferry Gberegbe a Returning Officer of the Peoples Democratic party ,PDP; in the March 9th 2019 Governorship Election in Rivers State. Late Gberegbe was allegedly shot death at a polling unit by men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad,F-SARs who were said to be shooting sporadically at the order of the Former Commander of F-SARs Akin Fakorede In his ruling, Justice Adolphus Enebeli struck out the case and refuse to grant the applicant the reliefs sort base on the filling which comes under originating sermon, adding that if it had come through writ of summons the case would have seen the light of the day. Our Correspondent reports that the judge advised that the case be properly filled, despite that it involved the murder of a person. Speaking outside the court room, Counsel to Ronke Gberegbe, Mr. Lezina Amegua said they would take the advise of the court by refiling the case properly. Mr.Amegua said they are compelled to abide by the judgement of the court.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
