6 Division Nigerian Army Gets new Commander

The Nigerian Army 6 Division PortHarcourt now has a new General Officer Commanding ,GOC ;Major General Olu Irefin . The new GOC took over from major General Felix Agugo who has been transferred to Lagos State as Corps Commander Signals. Gen Irefin is the 6th General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt since its operationalization in 7th November 2016. In a press statement signed by Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations Major C C Ekeocha ,noted that the new GOC was the immediate past GOC 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos. The Statement below: A new General Officer Commanding 6 Division and Land Component Commander Operation Delta Safe has taken over command at Headquarters 6 Division Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt Barracks. He is Major General Olu Irefin. Until his appointment, Major General Irefin was the immediate past GOC 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos. In a simple Handing and Taking Over Ceremony in Port Harcourt Barracks, Gen Irefin thanked God for giving him the privilege to serve in 6 Division and also expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai for giving him another opportunity to serve. He equally solicited for cooperation and commitment from commanders and troops of the Division to enable him succeed in this onerous tasks, and thanked the out gone GOC for a job well done. The out gone GOC Major General Felix Agugo was posted to Lagos as the Corps Commander Signals Gen Irefin is the 6th General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt since its operationalization in 7th November 2016. The highlights of the event were the Signing of the Handing and Taking Over notes, Handing Over of the Command Flag by the Out gone GOC to the new GOC and Inspection of Farewell Quarter Guard. Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
