Police Service Commission Dismisses Ten Senior Officers, Reduces Rank of Eight Others

Police Service Commission have dismissed ten senior Officers, reduced eight others rank and approved the promotion of 6,618 senior officers . The commission in a statement through its Head Press and Public Relations Ikechukwu Ani noted that the erring senior officers were sacked as a result of misconduct. The statement below : The Police Service Commission has dismissed ten senior Police Officers and reduced the rank of eight others over various cases of misconduct in the line of duty. The Commission took the decision at its 8th Plenary Meeting which spanned three weeks and ended on Wednesday, July 1st, 2020. The dismissed Officers were one Superintendent of Police (SP), five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) and four Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP). A deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) were reduced in rank, a decision which also affected four Superintendents of Police (SP), one Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Police. The Commission also approved the punishment of severe reprimand for 16 Officers, reprimand for 13 and letters of warning to four others. Two Officers are to receive Letters of advice while eleven were exonerated. The Commission in Plenary looked into eighty three disciplinary cases which included eighteen appeals and petitions. The Commission had also at the Plenary approved the promotions of 6,618 senior Police Officers including one AIG to DIG, four CPs to AIG and three DCPs to CPs. Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026.
