Police Officer Killed in Rivers Community


 There was unrest and chaos last night at Oyigbo local government areas of Rivers State  as hoodlums suspected to be proscribed IPOB members reportedly abducted and killed a Police Officer who is a native of Enugu State said to be attached to Special Anti-robbery Squad,SARS; .



Reports says  the officer who was on special duty  at the boundary between Rivers and Abia States  took permission from his Boss to look for something to eat about 9:30pm  when he was abducted and taken to a bush path and slaughtered by his killers. 


Inside source told our correspondent that passersby who saw the deceased body alerted the Police. 

We gathered that it took the combined efforts of officers attached to Tactical Units  to curtail the rampaging hoodlums who later reiterated back to a neighbouring state. 


An officer who was  part of the operation who pleaded anonymity revealed that the hoodlums mutilated the body of the deceased officer indicating that the officer was killed in a very cruel manner. 

The Police Public Relations Officer Mr.Nnamdi Omoni  confirm the incident to our correspondent.

Earlier,  in a pre-Independence day statement , Mr. Omoni warned hoodlums acting in the guise of proscribed IPOB members to stay off the state or face the full wrath of the law.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. Federal Government Yet to Approve Adire as NYSC Uniform, Minister Clarifies
