Reactions Trail Banning of SARs and Others By IGP


 Reactions have continued to trail the banning of Special Anti-Robbery Squad ,SARs; and other Tactical Units from patrolling and mounting roads block by the Inspector General of Police,IGP Mr. Mohammed Adamu  .


A police officer who would not want his name mentioned stated that the drastic measure taken by the IGP is a welcomed development.

The officer blamed the OC of SARs and other tactical units leaders for not giving proper orientation to their men.

He expressed sadness over the denting of image caused by SARs to the ordinary police officer who is ready to carry out the duty of protecting lives and property of citizens.


The officer explained that  IGP should not only issue order but set up a monitoring team that will supervise  to ensure implementation.


Also Speaking  a clergy with the Assemblies of God church Reverend Clinton Orie and  Secretary Board of Trustee ,Centre For Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign Mr. Prince Wiro in their separate opinions stated that the intimidation and harassment of SARs officers to citizens was alarming.

They  urges the IGP to set up a  monitoring team  to ensure compliance.
 
Advised Nigerians to  report to the appropriate quarters  if they are harassed by any officer.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026. Federal Government Yet to Approve Adire as NYSC Uniform, Minister Clarifies
