89 Year Old Firewood Seller Appeals to Commission of Inquiry to Prevail on SARs Officers to Release his Son Dead or Alive

 An eighty nine year old firewood seller, Alioma Romeo has explained to the Judicial Commission of Inquiry how his first son Silas Romeo was arrested by SARs officers on the 15th of September 2016 at Aggrey road  on his way back from work.


Mr. Romeo said he got a call that his son has been arrested and taken to Borokiri police station.
He stated that he went to the station with twenty thousand naira to bail his son but was told his son was not in their custody.


The Octogenarian appealed to the commission to prevail on the police to release his son dead or alive and compensation be paid to him.

Also, retired customs officer Chief Ipalibo Manuel narrated to the commission how his 22year old nephew Godstime Adokiye was arrested on the 30th of September 2016 by SARs officers at Borokiri sand field where he went to  play football.

Chief Manual said he went back again and was threatened never to come to the station because his nephew was no longer in their custody and since then he has not seen Godstime.

The retired customs officer demanded that investigation be carry out on the matter and the family compensated with ten million naira.

Earlier, counsel representing the commissioner of police Mrs Mercy Nweke raised an alarm over a threat to her life and that of her colleagues for representing the commissioner of police at the Commission.

Responding chairman of the commission Justice Chukwuneye Uriri asked the counsel to make an official report and added that anyone found threatening those testifying will be dealt with.

Our Correspondent reports that the commission struck out one case for lack of jurisdiction.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory
