Police Detain Officer Who Brutalised Bus Driver In Port Harcourt

 Rivers State Commissioner of Police,Mr. Joseph Mukan has revealed that the Police Officer who allegedly assaulted a bus driver at Choba/Ada George road in Port Harcourt has been arrested. 


The Commissioner of Police made this known when the State Chairman of Drivers Welfare Association comrade Isaac Lekia led the assaulted driver,Saviour Nwidam with other members of the union to the office of the Commissioner of Police .

Mr. Mukan stated that justice will be done in the matter.He also assured that the officer will be dealt with in line with Police internal disciplinary measures, while adding that the command under his watch does not condole indiscipline .


On his part, Chairman of Drivers Welfare Association comrade Lekia Isaac in his speech called for synergy between the Police and the Association to ensure proper monitoring of both drivers and Police officers on the road with a view to ensuring sanity. 

The driver Saviour Nwidam who could barely talk narrated the incident to the Commissioner of Police,how the Police officer entered his vehicle at Agip-junction and asked him to pay one hundred naira. 

Mr. Nwidam added that his refusal to pay the money and insisted on going to the station resulted to the ill-treatment he got from the officer.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages.
