No Live Lost In Shooting Incident At Old Port Harcourt Township Last Night-Rivers Police

 Rivers State Police command said no life was lost in the shooting that rocks PortHarcourt township area last night.


The command noted that officers and men were immediately deployed  to the area to maintain law and order.

Police Public Relations Officer Mr Nnamdi Omoni while noting  it was two cult groups that clashes however said the hoodlums took to their heels when they notice the present of security personnel leaving one of their pistol behind.

The police image maker explained that no arrest has been made so far , but investigation has commenced to bring perpetrators to book.

However, contrary to the claims of the Police PRO residents claimed two persons were killed by the rampaging cultists .

Reports said the hoodlums shot sporadically for over two hours.

The incident which occurred along Victoria Street by the Ben Harry Hotel,Aggrey Road axis,left pedestrians, commuters and residents of the area scampering for safety.


Our correspondent gathered that a popular businessman in the area identified as Mr Dike, was one of the victims.


An eyewitness who would not want his name mentioned told our correspondent that about 8pm they heard gunshots with residents of the area running for their lives.


The eyewitness confirmed that two persons were killed while straight bullet hit another business man from the north, but could not confirm if he was death.

Our correspondent who visited the area report that the area was clam with residents going about there lawful duties, while police vans were sighted.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
