Mother of the traumatized victim Lemon Gbara who spoke to Journalists after she led the twenty year old  female student  to file the compliant against Mr Princewill  Chikakpobi  at the human rights desk at headquarters of Rivers State Police command said She wants Justice for her daughter.

Mrs Gbara,a widow accused Mr Princewill  Chikakpobi  who is also the

Head of Department,HOD; of Dental Surgery Technician in the college of raping and constantly harassing her daughter even after the incident.

She explained that on 16th April, 2021 her daughter was in school early since she had exams to write that morning.

Mrs Gbara revealed that the HOD called her daughter that she should assist him to carry a generator set outside from a store close to the lecturer's office.

Mrs Gbara said the HOD, locked the door immediately her daughter walked inside the store and allegedly intimidated and forcefully had sex with her against her consent even as her daughter screamed for help.

The widow alleged that the HOD threatened her daughter  that if she tells anybody or refuses to comply any time he needs her, he will ensure she does not graduate from the institution.

She regretted that her daughter who is barely four months in the institution was being subjected to trauma and emotional pains which made her  contemplate  suicide.

Mrs Gbara a native of Ogoni called on the Rivers State Government to wade into the matter and ensure the lecturer who allegedly raped her daughter is dealt with inline with the law.

She expressed fear that if nothing is done, other female students will become  victims.

In the meantime, a lawyer with the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign Barrister IK Alexander has called on the Provost of the college to cooperate with the Police in the State to ensure the HOD turns himself in for investigation considering allegation that the rape took place in the institution.

Mr Alexander equally urged the Police to display professionalism in handling of the matter and ensure the investigation is devoid of sentiments and bias.

He said if the HOD is found wanting in the course of investigation, he should be made to face the law.

Our correspondent reports that  a WhatsApp communication between the female student and the lecturer after the alleged rape, showed  the female student told the lecturer that he forcefully had sex with her which was read by the HOD as indicated by the green sign in WhatsApp message as sighted by the Police.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach the accused lecturer proved abortive as several calls to his line were not picked or returned.
