Governor Wike Promise Twenty Million Naira To Families Of Police Officers Killed In Rivers State

 Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has pledged the sum of Twenty Million Naira to each of the family of the eleven police personnel recently killed by unknown gunmen in the state.


Governor Wike announced the pledge when he visited the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday and Senior Officers and men of the State Police Command at the State Police Officers Mess, Port Harcourt to commensurate with them on the death of the policemen.

The Governor who expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the policemen,  directed the Commissioner of Police to submit names of the affected policemen to the Secretary of the State Government to enable government reach out to their families.


Governor Wike also urged security agencies to be serious and vigilant while discharging their duties as security crisis is alarming in the country. 

While assuring the Rivers State Police Command that the State Government will always support the Police to fight crime and criminality, Governor Wike reiterated that no amount of intimidation and barbaric attacks will make the state to be part of any secessionist agenda. 

In his remarks, Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday said the of the visit of the Governor has boosted the morale of the police officers in the state 

He emphasized that despite the attacks, the police will continue the to carry out their duties diligently. 


The Commissioner of Police assured Rivers people that the police will continue to protect of lives and property
