Police Confirm Explosion In Rivers,Ask Residents To Go About Their Lawful Duties

 The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed an explosion at the Mile 3 Market  in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the State 


The Police in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer Mr Nnamdi Omoni noted that a locally fabricated Dynamite, exploded when one Mrs Ifemia Aloke,  popularly  known as  mama Joy opened her fish shop, inflicting injuries on her son and one other young lady who are currently receiving medical attention. No life was lost in the incident. 

The police image maker said the Explosive Ordinance Disposal,EOD; was immediately despatched to the scene to sweep and render the entire Market safe while normal trading activities have resumed . 

In the meantime, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Eboka Friday has ordered a full scale Investigation into the incident with a view to ascertaining the cause of the explosion and bringing the perpetrators to justice. 

He reassured the people  that the state is calm and urged everyone to go about  their lawful activities uninterrupted  without fear of molestation from any quarters.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
