Take The War To Their Hideout Acting IGP,Charges Newly Inaugurated Operation Restore Peace Team In The South South

 The Acting Inspector General of Police; Mr Alkali Usman has charged newly inaugurated Operation Restore Peace team in the south south zone to flush out criminal elements in the region.


Mr Usman who gave the charge at the flag off of the operation in PortHarcourt  , told men and Officers of the team to take the war to the hideout of the criminals .

Speaking at the event, the Acting Inspector General of Police Mr Alkali Usman said the recent rise of insecurity in the south south and southeast was alarming and explained that the operation will also be replicated in other parts of the country.

Mr Usman noted that the Force would collaborate with other sisters agencies to ensure they tackle the security challenges facing the nation.

He stressed that the Force

will also synergise with traditional leaders and communities heads to ensure effective community policing.

In an address, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Planing and Research South south zone, Moses Jitoboh noted that in recent times the south south zone and south East have witnessed attacks on security agencies and innocent Nigerians.

Mr Jitoboh promised that the operation will leave no stone unturned as the Force

would employ all measure to fight terrorism and other criminal activities in the region.


On his part, Rivers State Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike represented by his deputy, Dr Ipalibo Banigo said the state government will continue to support security agencies to protect lives and property in the state.


Governor Wike appreciated the acting Inspector General of Police for being proactive in the fight against crime and criminality.

The event was attended by AIGs , Commissioners of police , Traditional Rulers among others.

Rivers State Government Targets Reduction In Gender Based Violence
